Fashion Trends That Took the World by Storm – And Still Do!
Fashion is all about expressing yourself in the best way possible, so there’s no better way to do this than coming up with your best fits. History repeats itself and this applies to fashion too! Most of us like to keep up with fashion trends that are new or have returned for good.
In this blog, we will take a look at the various trends that made a comeback and are here to stay. We will look at how the fashion industry keeps booming by bringing back old trends and making them new.
Wrap Around Heels
Rising from the late ’90s era, the trend took off when Jada Smith walked down the red carpet, wearing a slit dress along with wrap around and heels that went up till her knees. It was more than just a shoe – it was a fashion statement! The trend made a comeback with a spin at the Valentino Spring Fest 2020, where models wore the wrap around heels with mini dresses. This gave the style a refreshing twist and made the audience interested in reliving the 90’s once again.
Eco-Friendly Fashion
For many generations, the idea of sustainable fashion has been passed down as a way to save the environment. Even till today, many hold on to this trend as it is not only eco-friendly, but it’s also a huge saving when it comes to finances. One way of contributing to the eco-friendly fashion circles is by adding fancy patch works to torn jeans/shirts and making them new once again. This will reduce the carbon footprint by 20-30% making it the best sustainable solution!
Corduroy Material
Corduroy is a soft textile material with a cord-like pattern. It was popular during the ’70s, where it was used for making children’s clothing. Coming back to the present, the fashion industry has discovered it’s new-found favour in corduroy and is now seen used for all types of clothes and accessories. From cardigans and shirts to handbags and skirts, corduroy is back and is here to stay. The best part? It doesn’t need to be ironed and can last for years! Imagine how great it is to have an easy-to-work material like that in your wardrobe!
Colour Block Sweatshirts & Hoodies
Ever loved vibrant colours so much to the point of wearing them? Then read on! The concept of the colour block was a brainchild of the ’80s and was pretty much a staple fashion at that time. These sweatshirts were usually worn on polo tops or were worn under windbreaker jackets, making it a classic winter statement. Like the corduroy, colour blocks not only came as sweatshirts but also as hoodies! It is back and trending, so wherever you go, you will see many around you wearing these bright, comfortable clothes.
As you can see, fashion is indeed timeless and is glamorous in its way. Some trends may seem to die down eventually, but they will make a comeback too. Besides, you don’t need to wait for a trend to wear a particular fashion statement – you can be a trendsetter and stand out from the ordinary!
