Interior Design – Attract your clients with these top marketing strategies
Irrespective of the professional space you are currently in, it is always a good time to think clearly on marketing your business. This is true, especially if you are starting out. Even if you are a talented and passionate student of interior design, it is important to understand how to sell your business. Although interior design requires immense creativity and an eye for colour, patterns, and whatnot, it is essential to develop strategies or ways that will sell your brilliant ideas. Hence, here is a blog, especially for students who would like to take their interior designing to the next level.
Step 1 – Create a unique consistent brand image.
What do you think your designs stand for? If you had to run a business, think of the designs you would like to promote. It is important to do so in order to find a steady flow of clientele. Most of the successful designers have a niche design, concept or theme that they promote which makes unique in their own way. To build a brand image, it is important to classify your audience and their demographics. This way, you find a definite target market and accordingly think of a theme.
Step 2 – Advertise your business
Once you have decided the brand image of your designs, it is now pivotal to promote your business to your target market. Unlike the traditional times where people hand out pamphlets and hard copy adverts, now people extensively use online advertising tools. From Google Ads to other social media platforms, you must capitalize on those tools and find interested clients who would like to avail your services. Even as a student, you could simply start a social media page where you could upload your latest creations. This way, you will just be able to build a strong social network but also get your brand out there in the market.
Step 3 – Power of networking
While social media is a necessary tool for marketing, you can forget networking through events, exhibitions and conferences. This is extremely necessary to make a mark and get yourself introduced to other organizations and industry experts. This gives you an edge as you have already personally connected with the people and have created lasting impressions. Design events are a great networking opportunity to understand what the latest trends are and even meet potential suppliers and clients.
Step 4 – Blogging
While you are considering starting your social pages, you must also think about starting a simple website where you can blog and share your thoughts. When you begin blogging about some relevant topics, people automatically will recognize you. Gradually, you could start creating content plans. Some simple topics you can start with include – your current projects, tips to other aspiring designers and some pieces where you express your views about the industry and other aspects.
Email marketing
The final marketing tip would be to focus on collecting names and their email addresses so as to stay connected and update them with your new designs. Surprisingly, email marketing is one of the most effective marketing tools and sometimes can even beat social media. This is because, when people sign up and add their email address to your mailing list, they are likely to convert into your customers. While social media may give your designs the required exposure and engagement, ultimately it all comes down to conversion.
