UAE’s Capital Education hosted a three-day Personal Make-Up Workshop
Dubai’s oldest vocational education provider, Capital Education in technical collaboration with UK’s renowned London College of Arts conducted a three-day Personal Make-Up Workshop from 8th to 10th September at their Dubai campus.
Many ladies from different walks of life joined this workshop where they were allowed to further enhance their skills and become highly proficient in the field of make-up. This workshop was conducted by Ms. Deepti – a celebrity make up artist with 14 years of experience in the Make-Up Industry.
The first day of the Make-Up workshop revolved around ‘Self-care’. The ladies were taught several skin-care routines and some wit-full hacks that can keep one’s skin healthy, glowing and acne-free. Through the three-hour workshop, the women were also taught an important part of make-up – Ace the Base. As it is regarded that the base foundation or the primer is an important element of getting a clean look, Ms. Deepti, highlighted the dos and don’ts of Ace the Base. Some of the learning outcomes of the first day were – colour correction, concealing one’s blemishes, acne, spots and getting a clean, non-cakey look.
The following day of the workshop emphasized on diverse eye-make-up routines. Starting from a glamorous look, to a party, wedding or a natural look, Ms. Deepti discussed the importance of choosing an appropriate colour palette and it’s supporting elements for a clean and eye-catchy look! Throughout the workshop, the learners were demonstrated with different looks giving them a chance to not just learn but to practically implement them. In addition to this, the attendees learnt the importance of every product and how some products from specific brands can elevate the overall appearance.
In the final day of the workshop, the women were given in-depth knowledge of completing an entire look keeping a specific brief in mind. The third day was mostly student-driven as they could clarify their doubts and present innovative ideas that were further guided by Ms. Deepti, our splendid make-up expert! Unlike other workshops, this one was entirely learners-centric which gave them hands-on and market experience that can come handy as they become professional make-up artists.
Commenting on the overall student response and their experience, Ms. Deepti stated “It was a fantastic three-day workshop where I witnessed many professionals coming in to further elevate and learn the intricate details of this art. It is wonderful to see how people are diversifying and looking at make-up as a career in itself. I believe in today’s age and era, vocational education has certainly taken a full swing at offering students hand-on experience through an effective and practical approach.”
